With Jay Team back together, Celtics take out the Bucks 117-103

Opa! It's Greek Heritage Night in Boston! Put your dancing shoes on, eat some lamb, and have a shot of Ouzo!

    1st Quarter

Why don't we always see this energy

What we are getting right now in the the first is what we deserve as fans every game. Ball movement, crisp passes, and hitting their shots. JBs presence has been huge. He and JT can build off of and be a one two punch out there. One that can knockout the opponent. Watching Smart and RWill hooking up on oops is beautiful out there.

Defense seems like it's ready to play

So far we see active hands and hands in the face as shots are going up. Whenever you play the defending world champ you better play hard D. Competitiveness and effort are the keys to good D. Hunger, and wanting to stop your opponent need to drive this defense. There have been lapses but this Bucks team is a well oiled machine.

Celtics do trail 30-21 after the first, these Bucks are going to get tougher as the game gets going. Need to regroup and come out looking to throw a few haymakers.

    2nd Quarter

     JB makes his presence felt

JB is as smooth as the other side of the pillow out there. Hitting threes, jumpers and making great passes. When he's on the floor he's just so fluid within the game of basketball. He has a very good basketball IQ. It's so great having him back out there. He just needs to Stay HEALTHY! We continue to watch a player mature into his own.

JT feeds off JB being back

This writer sees how the Jays feed off each other, in a good way. It's not that they one up each other it's when one of them plays well the other follows suit. Which leads and is leading to complete team play. Not only does the offense flow but the D does as well. If these two continue to flow like this it's gonna be a great game. JB finding JT for three shows they are cohesive.

Celtics after trailing, now lead 51-50 setting up an exciting second half. It's going to take excellent execution to defeat the NBA champion Bucks.

One more first half thought, as JB and JT continue to grow with each other they should look to the Greek and Middleton as their example of what to become.

    3rd Quarter

Keep Your Foot on the Gas pedal

Coming out looking ready for a fight to start to the third, the Celtics are looking like a John Williams led Boston Pops symphony orchestra. The passes are the string section and the shots are the drums! Bing! Bang! Boom! JB with sweet fade away, and JT with a dribble hand off three, plus RWill getting easy buckets. Music to Celtics fans ears.

Al keeping the Greek quiet, don't jinx it especially on Greek Heritage night

So far tonight the always amazing Al Horford has kept the Greek at bay. That doesn't mean the Greek won't explode at some point but right now he's holding his own. It's still early in the third but so far I'm impressed. This writer loves the Greek as a player, but not when he plays us. He carries himself with class, humility, and just goes hard at everyone. Which should be admired by Celtics fans.

Celtics lead 85-74 after some excellent offense and pretty good defense. Plus an altercation with Bobby Portis and Grant Williams. Gotta love the fire! Opa!

       4th Quarter

     Landing HayMakers

Generally these Celtics come out flat in most fourth quarters. Tonight they are landing HayMakers. Bucks playing zone, and JT says I'll be the zone breaker and nail this shot. On the following possession we see a three from the corner. We see this Celtics team get up for the defending champs, why can we not do this for every game? If there were a way to bottle it up that would be great.

JT dealing on O and playing hard D

JT is scoring from every where tonight. He's driving hard, finding holes in the zone, and knocking down threes. His D on local kid PC was nice to see. It seems as though JT and his teammates heard what Ime had to say after a lackluster road trip. JT can make driving to the hoop prettier than any step back he ever takes. That was clear as he found his way to a left hand lay in. He even Defended the Greek! 42 points for Mr Tatum, and some media outlets want him gone? Fools!

Celtics win 117- 103 off of a great team effort on both ends. Playing this well vs the Champs sets a bar that needs to be met. How does this team meet that bar? Go out Friday and take it to the Warriors who in my opinion play some excellent team basketball. Match them play for play and win! Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! Opa!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
