REDUNDANT (definition): repeating something else and therefore unnecessary
That's the argument posed by some analysts for the Celtics not to retain both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. "They have redundant skills" these misguided individuals may propose as a reason to split the Jay Team up. I say - if their skills are redundant, then give me more redundancy.
Jaylen Brown: 34 points - 6 boards - 3 assists - 1 steal - 1 block
Jayson Tatum: 18 points, 9 boards - 5 assists - 2 steals - 1 block
Brown was a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line, and Tatum was 4-of-4 at the line. Another example of "repeating" each other's production - which any analyst understands is "therefore unnecessary". I am being sarcastic, of course.
One other point. Jayson was a bit off on his shooting last night, hitting at only a 32% clip from the field. Jaylen was unconscious - hitting his shots with 54% accuracy. There will be off nights for both members of the Jay team, and hopefully the other (unnecessary) member can fill in the gaps.
I rest my case!
