That much-awaited Green Light has been burning brightly the last 10 games for the Boston Celtics. They are 7-3 in that span, and it's their defense that ignited the light.
In the 10-game span, Boston leads the League in both Defensive Rating (102.2) and Defended Field Goal Percentage (42.3%). In their 113-107 victory last night over the Charlotte Hornets, The Green held their opponents to 42.5% from the field and 30.0% on 3-pointers.
The quartet of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and Rob Williams have always had the size, quickness and mobility to defend at a very-high level, but lately their defense has been particularly intense and effective. All four are more-than-capable of guarding close to the rim and out at the arc.
One more point on last night's win. Off the bench, Josh Richardson and Grant Williams scored a combined 35 points on 12-of-19 from the field and 9-of-14 on treys.
Celtics beat a solid team when Tatum and Brown didn’t have to score 30+.

Sign of good things to come
Tatum and Brown notched 19 and 15 points, respectively, so at least in this contest, a combined 60 points from The Jay Team was not needed for victory. The team is clicking. Time will tell if it lasts.
