Time to pay back the Pacers!

After a few close losses it's time for the Green to get back to their winning ways.
Celtics are honoring the 90s tonight. A few epic Larry Bird performances make the list. Remember when his face hit the garden floor and he came back to lead them to victory. How about that epic performance vs the Blazers! We saw Toine and the Truth drafted, plus we cant forget Dee Brown winning the dunk contest! We also lost Reggie in the 90s, man he was special!

 1st Quarter

Marcus the Wolverine Smart posting up Haliburton, letting the young pup know I'm gonna own you tonight! Smart nailing a three as the Celtics start off hot. Here we stand at 11-2, need this energy and defense to keep rolling tonight. Tonight and Sunday are both games we need to cement in the win column. Good to see Theis and Al out there together, need to see how well they work on the court until RWill is back.

To many turnovers lead to the Pacers getting right back in the game. Turnovers against Miami hurt them, we don't want to see that pattern occur vs the Pacers. Clean it up guys, or this Pacers team will sneak up on you and steal a win. Gotta love when JB passes up the three and gets to the rack. His ability to glide to the hoop is unstoppable! He's been able to the hoop with ease so far tonight. Keep taking it to em JB, they don't have an answer for you. Smart to JB with that hang time left layup was pure basketball beauty!

2nd Quarter

I see the refs are back to just calling DTheis for every call they can, can you give the man a break?! Celtics have come out a bit cold to start this second quarter. Pritch seems to be off lately, need to get that stroke back! Love seeing Theis blocking shots on D! Get that weak crap outta here! Defense is going to be the reason we succeed in the playoffs! That is our identity and we need to rock it!

Pacers refuse to go away, with that said PP says hold my beer and nails a three! Despite some early troubles shooting his confidence never waivers. Love his moxy, going to need him in the playoffs! JB parting the red sea, making the Pacers D look inept! Need to see a strong finish as we approach 3 minutes to go in the half. JTs court vision is elite as he finds Theis for the JAM! He made it look so good, JB find Theis for two!

3rd Quarter

JT can make any defense look like the JV squad. Absolutely love when he goes to the hoop. It comes so naturally, he's like a gazelle in how graceful he moves. He quick and has the body to dominate anytime he drives. The more he and JB drive the better chance they have of getting to the line. Given it's the Celtics the refs won't give them the calls. Marcus doing Marcus things drawing the charge!

All five starters in double figures, gotta love that stat. Nice balance on offense, and showing it's a team game. After a few days off, Al has some pep in his step and his shot has been pure. Refs just made a horrendous call against Al, not a shock when the leagues refs have an agenda against the Celtics. JT just brought them HAMMER DOWN! WHAT A MOVE AND DUNK!

4th Quarter

It's time to step up and close this game out. It's already to close for comfort, need the D to step up! When these Celtics cut to the hoop they can't be stopped, we need to see more cutting! JB just gets called for a horrible offensive foul! NBA refs are HORRIBLE! That was said as I hear Tommy Heinsohns voice in my head! PP for threeeeeeeeee! He would be a Tommy favorite this season.

It's a four point game, and this writer is getting a tad frustrated and nervous. Come on guys, let's refocus and execute! Haliburton is gone off a bad call, after having a great game. DWhite with a huge three! These officials continue to take away from the game IMO. The lead is three, and now it can go to six! GWill getting to the rack and one! These close games the Celtics have struggled in, maybe tonight changes their luck. GWill making impact plays tonight! When your shot isn't falling, DRIVE!

JT with the block on Lance telling him get that weak crap outta here! Tatum muscles us a duece and flexes for the crowd! The lead is only four, nice move by JB getting inside with the duece! Plus the and one! Fourth quarter execution still needs work because in the playoffs every play is magnified! Especially come crunch time! Al to JT with a double fisted HAMMER! That should do it, Bleed Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
