Celtics with a heartbreaking OT loss to hungry Knicks

1st Quarter ☘️

We have some reinforcements playing tonight, it's time to get back to our winning ways. They call this a rivalry game, I'd say it's pretty lopsided in favor of the Celtics! Keys to the game, are pushing the pace, playing D, and rebounding!

I want to see a Blowout!

JB opens up the game with his patented mid range jumper! DWhite with a nice take away on D! He's been very good on the defensive end. Love seeing JT posting up and getting the score inside. He can do that all game if he wants. The more he develops that post up game the more unstoppable he can become.

Back to back THREEEEEEEEEs for JT!!! Al said I can do that as he drains a nothing but net three! Timeout by the Knickerbockers, these Celtics should be able to dominate this team. Love seeing JT get in the paint and score with that one handed floater. He's showing a bit of everything in his bag tonight.

Great job by DWhite getting inside and initiating contact. Having him in the starting line up, as the point guard is a place he thrives. Downtown Jaylen Brown for THREEEEEEEEE!!! We have our first substitute and it's a sight for sore eyes. Welcome back Mr. Malcolm Brogdon!

Jayson Tatum is putting on a show to start tonight's game! Looking like the much deserved All Star that he is! The Celtics three point shooting tonight has been en Fuego! I still don't like the three point shot, but I'll take it. MB for Threeeeeeeee, it's good to have ya back!

GWill just got punked by Julius Randle, C's need to step up on D. They tend to grab a lead and get a little loose on D. The Knicks have fought their way back into the game. C's need to reestablish themselves and finish off this quarter strong. It starts on the defensive end, get it down!

PP is in and making an impact! Great shot! Heck of an offensive rebound by PP as well! This kid is always ready when his number is called. I would not trade him, to me he's a huge asset! C's are earning a bunch of Tommy points crashing the glass! Celtics lead after one by eight.

2nd Quarter 🍀🍀

C's are cold to start the second, and the D isn't doing them any favors. I'll just never understand how they can look so good, then look so bad in the same game. They have lost their flow on offense. Nice to see Haus Money hit his first shot tonight.

Now we are moving the ball, GWill for THREEEEEEEEE!!! Great job by JT on the offensive glass! Scores on a lefty put back. He's become quite a good rebounder, love how he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Haus Money again for THREEEEEEEEE!!! Maybe he's found his shot which has been lost at sea.

Al for THREEEEEEEEE!!! Pure as a dove in flight! MB with the lefty off the glass, what a work of art! This Celtics defense is getting embarrassed right now. What are we doing out there?! The Knicks are in the lead and I can feel my blood boiling.

JB just put Quickly in the spin cycle, but the defense continues to stink it up. JT with another offensive rebound and put back! JB cleans up the glass this time and has a chance at an AND ONE. C's lead by two. Better come out to play in the third!

3rd Quarter ☘️☘️☘️

Going to need a big third quarter from the C's. They have come out cold.... Great cut by JB as he scores inside. The Celtics are standing still on offense right now. Are they really going lose three in a row?! I hope not, it's time to step up and play some freaking defense.

JT goes to the hoop and draws the foul, smart move right there. C's need to go on a run, can't allow the Knicks to get comfortable and confident. JB gets to the rim and draws contact. Another heady player drawing a foul.

What a block by ROB! DWhite for THREEEEEEEEE!!! Defense leads to offense, gotta love that. JT to the rack for the two handed JAM! We have a timeout as the game is all nodded up. C's need to amp up their aggressiveness on the defensive end if they want to win.

A joke of a call on Al, Randle gets away with one. The offense and defense are collectively costing them the game right now. C's trail by seven and are playing with no energy or effort.

This feels like they aren't invested from my vantage point. Rob gets inside and scores. Looks like he may have tweaked something. PP hits the three, we are going to need the bench to step up. This game is making me sick.

Where has the energy been lately from this team? Rob just showed some heart and energy by getting the steal. Thank you Rob! C's trail after the third. These refs suck.

4th Quarter 🍀🍀🍀🍀

I just don't understand why this team goes through the motions like this. Now is the time to play good basketball, not what they are doing tonight. Wouldn't you want to just go out there and kick the other teams butt?!

Hauser is back to missing shots. JB posts up and scores. This freaking team is getting out worked. MB gets to the hoop and scores. I've got the feeling we are going to lose yet again.

This team is lacking in every area tonight. No heart or effort tonight, it feels like I'm watching last year's team. Every game should matter, but it doesn't feel that way lately.

The lead is ten for the Knicks but it feels like it's a twenty point lead. There is still time left but not sure of this team has that fire tonight to make a run.

There has been no defense played by this Celtics team tonight. They have allowed these Knicks to do whatever they want. I hope they actually show up Saturday night. C's need a few stops if they want a legit chance.

MB for Threeeeeeeee!!!! The Knicks lead by two as the game enters it's most intense moments. The C's have shown the heart and energy on defense! Not sure if it's going to be enough. Excellent D by the C's forcing a shot clock violation. JT to the rack and we have a tie freaking game!

C's with a chance to win the game!!! Overtime here we come.

Overtime ☘️🍀☘️🍀☘️

DWHITE for Threeeeeeeee!!!Celtics need a defensive stop right now. JT posts up and draws the foul, what a smart basketball play! How about another defensive stop!

TOMMY POINT FOR MALCOLM BROGDON! IM GIVING HIM TWO TOMMY POINTS! He saves the possession for the C's!

The C's trail by one with the ball. JB drives and gives the C's the lead. It's up to the defense now. Another call goes the Knicks way. JB goes to the line with a chance to take the lead. He literally missed both free throws. Absolute choke job. Celtics lose.

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
