New Years Eve Basketball

New Years Eve Basketball in San Antonio.

1st Q ☘️

C's with the first basket of the game off some great ball movement. JB mans up and brings home a two handed JAM! Derrick feels right at home and looks good already tonight. The way JB gets inside the paint and bullies guys should be his bread and butter. So is his silky smooth turn around fade away. Man has his game just grown so much. He's becoming a more all around all star player! To witness his growth is something all Celtics fans should enjoy and revel in. He and Tatum are just becoming two players we can trust that will do anything to win. Becoming all around players is part of that journey to winning. I've had my moments critiquing his game but this season is turning out to be his best. Liking what I've seen in this first quarter from the C's. They should be able to slowly blow these Spurs off the floor. Celtics lead after one.

2nd Q 🍀🍀

DWhite leads the C's in points after the first. This man deserves an All Star nod, along with a few titles. His ability on the court is incredible. He does everything an all around basketball player should. Plus he doesn't have to be the center of attention. He just lets the game flow and come to him. He should be a Celtic for the rest of his career. I love him! Let's talk about Al Horford and how awesome he's been this season. He's like a fine wine that's aged perfectly. C's lead isn't where it should be. These Spurs play very hard for their coach. JTs ability on offense could eventually lead to being the best Celtics scorer of all time! He's that damn amazing. Celtics lead after two.

3rd Q ☘️☘️☘️

Need to see the C's come out in this third and blow the lead wide open. These Celtics despite not having Jrue are still looking pretty damn good. This kid Wemby looks like he's going to be the real deal. He's just a true unicorn out there. Have to enjoy how efficient both JT and JB have been in tonight's game. They lead by example with this team ever since Marcus Smart has been traded. The lead has grown to twenty points. Gotta love that! The only thing stopping this team from winning Banner 18 is... Injuries, if we stay relatively healthy I see great things coming in June. The C's are ROLLING! They lead after three!

4th Q 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Celtics are starting to learn to not play with their food. Clearly that's evident by them taking it to the Spurs tonight. This team has that feel of becoming the cream of the crop of the NBA. Every player who has entered the game has made an impact!

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
