Texas Two Step

The Celtics look to start a win streak by beating the Mavs. It would be nice to see the Jays get going tonight, the last two games they haven't been themselves. One things for certain is Luka tends to show off and up vs the C's. Will we get to see Jrue guard Luka?! I'd love to see that personally.

1st Q 🏀

C's are going to have to be ready to score, both Luka and Kyrie can put up points. C's are extremely sluggish at the start. The Mavs have had several days off, while the C's are on a back to back. Very cold shooting by the C's so far, gotta get warmed up! The C's should attack the paint, the Mavs have no true inside presence. JB takes my advice and gets into the paint. Mavs can't defend to save their lives. Tatums jumper looked flat to start. We need him to shake these poor shooting woes. Cs can't hit a shot to save their lives tonight. This feels like a third quarter as opposed to the first. JT has come alive and is doing his thing out there!

2nd Q 🏀🏀

C's D needs to amp it up here in the second. If they do that, expect em to grab this lead. Back to back threes by Jrue and Sam and there that lead! Luka is a real baby out there. Shut it and play basketball! C's seem to have a bit of a flow out here in the second. Would be nice to see a nice 10-0 run... C's clearly have the capability to go on big runs. It's not 10-0 but they finally get into that run as their lead grows. What can I say about PP, but that kid has a nose for the ball. It's helped him become one of the better rebounding guards. JB just broke Luka as he crosses em up so bad Luka fell on his rump! JB pump fakes Luka scores and get the and one! C's finally finding their groove and the lead grows. Just need them to keep playing this way as the quarter winds down. Joe always says games can be won and lost in the last few minutes of any quarter.

3rd Q 🏀🏀🏀

C's can't afford to be faulty in this third quarter. If they are this lead will disappear quickly. C's need to attack the paint and expose this Mavs D. Love that pass from Tatum to Holiday to Al for three! Ball movement is a thing of beauty. C's have actually been impressive in this third quarter. The lead is growing and the Mavs need a timeout. Refs are bailing Luka out here with these fouls. I tell ya it's good to see the Jays back on track tonight. When both Jays allow the offense to just flow it enhances their ability to score easily. C's lead after three.

4th Q 🏀🏀🏀🏀

When the C's get out in transition they can't be stopped. Great touchdown pass from Luke to JT for the layup. DWite has been off tonight. He's still been solid with other parts of his game, but that shot just isn't falling. I love how aggressive JT has been taking the ball to the cup. He could dominate just doing that each game. Forget the threes and get to the hoop! JB looking like a man amongst boys when he gets inside. JB with the MONEY BALL corner pocket! Boom! Celtics win!

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! 🍀☘️

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
