NBA Finals Game 1

The Stage is set and the Finals are finally here. The C's welcome the national media darlings in Complainer Luka and Logo Stomping Kyrie. Well we have JT, JB, Jrue, DWhite, KP, AL, and so much more. The start of Banner 18 begins tonight. I can't believe it's been 16 years since the last time the C's won it all. That's way too freaking long...

1st Quarter 🏀

Here we go! Al JAMS IT HOME! Jrue for a pure three! We get JB guarding Luka so far tonight. Gotta love seeing JT crash the boards already tonight. C's are missing some good looks so far but those will fall. Al gets a three followed by a JB steal and jam! C's are moving the ball pretty damn well tonight. KP has entered the conversation! Welcome back, no go ball out! It's been a busy first quarter as both teams are locked in. Need to see some tighter D from the C's though. Force both Luka and Kyrie to play defense. KP forces Luka into his first foul, smart basketball play. KP JAMS IT HOME! KP is a man balling his brain out there. C's grab an early 10 point lead and Dallas calls a timeout. Need to continue to water and grow this lead! JT for three and he's on the board! KP with the Block of the finals! C's are on a magical run and lead by 17. KP has surely brought the energy tonight!

2nd Quarter ☘️☘️

C's need to continue to hammer these Mavs. JB to the cup off the glass! Sam I am again! JB just broke the freaking rim on that dunk! JB blew by Luka and stuffed it down Kyries throat! The Garden is on fire! KP is killing em tonight! The lead has risen to 21! C's ball movement is INCREDIBLE! The C's are firing on all cylinders!!! Love seeing the honoring of Bill Walton earlier this evening. Made me emotional... C's need continue to make this lead grow. I love what I have seen so far tonight. JT decides to go and destroy the rim! The Jays are here to wreck the rim! C's D has been delightful! C's lead at the half!

3rd Quarter 🏀🏀🏀

I hope the C's come out here and land a few knockout blows here in the third. Don't allow any life into these Mavs at all! Keep attacking Luka and Kyrie, and make the other guys beat you. Which so far they can't. I want to see the Jays get into their bags in the third within the offense. The defense must stay active and engaged! DWhite for three!!! Great hustle by DWhite on the offensive rebound. Slow start in the third on offense... Come on guys get it going! Time for KP to get there and pick these guys up. Let's get this lead back up there! Jrue gets inside and gets to the line. C's need to crash the freaking boards. Let's get KP going again here in the third. C's with some excellent D right there! The shots are just not falling right now. The lead is shrinking and I'm gonna get very upset... Timeout by Joe and let's figure things out. Attack the damn rim and forget the threes for now. C's finally decide to attack the rim which was necessary. WHAT A BLOCK BY JB! JT for THREE! Timeout Mavs! Loving the way they applied themselves on D here! Al for three! Excellent ball movement! JB SWATS Kyries weak attempt at a shot! JB for THREE!!! C's have answered the bell after Joe got in their ears! C's lead after the third...

4th Quarter 🍀🍀🍀🍀

After a rough wavey third the C's closed the end of it very well. The mark of a good team is not giving up when things don't go your way. C's could have folded in that third but they didn't. That's why this team is different and why I love them! KP with yet another great block! C's are leading in the assist department tonight, which you have to love. JT is getting no love from these refs tonight. Luka gets coddled by the refs and Tatum gets no respect. Jrue Holiday just schooled the Dallas defender on that one. Maybe Washington should spend more time at Kentucky learning to play D! The C's continue to crash the boards and it's paying off! Jrue for the corner three which he owns! Looking like it's Sub City for the end of this one! C's handle their business in tonight's game. This is step one towards Banner 18! One down and three to go! They can't get complacent with this win. They must go out in game 2 and grab it. For all these Celtics except for Jrue, you are so close to your ultimate dream.

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! Banner 18!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
