C's take on the Motor City

We have no JT or Jrue tonight. Short handed Cs yet again.

🏀

C's are short handed, but I expect them to win tonight. Lock in on D, and move the ball unselfishly. Expect a big game from PP. We have the double big lineup in Al and KP out there. KP swats Harris right from the go! Get it outta here! C's will need to be stout on D tonight. JB to KP opens us up, cookies and cream in da house!

Good to see JB taking the rock into the paint. I love the way he attacks the rim. When he has a full head of steam no one can stop him. Loving the ball movement tonight. KP to Al for the beautiful three pointer. I love seeing Joe yet again wearing his cross. The man is steadfast in his faith. C's are off to a pretty good start. Timeout Pistons.

Anyone else not upset we didn't make the gimmick cup tournament. I know I'm not and am so happy! DWhite with a corner three off of excellent ball movement. C's are building this lead up early tonight! JB for three! Love the way he's shooting with confidence. C's came out to land the knockout punch early on tonight.

C's D is looking pretty damn good and they are digging in. Defense wins championships and I'm looking for back to back baby! Love the way the C's are crashing the boards. Tonight feels like an old fashioned butt whooping. Let's continue to make it rain. Basketball is the most beautiful sport in the world to me. The sounds of a nothing but net shot, the sneakers on the court, and the sound of the ball. C's with the lead after One.

🏀🏀

C's must continue to put pressure on these Piston players. Sam I am off the curl and his the rainbow three. Great play from DWhite to the cutting Kornet. I need to see more of that this year. Love when teams cut, use screens and set picks. PP to Al for the deuce, that's Celtic basketball right there. DWhite to Luke again! Give me that all game!

Joe with a timeout, the lead has dimished and we need to refocus. Expect a different team off of the timeout. Probably a well designed play which should lead to some points. C's are allowing the Pistons to creep back in. The starters are back and expect them to let it rip! C's have answered the bell and are charging full steam ahead! The Pistons have no answer for KP down low.

C's are up by fifteen and they have a chance to run this lead up even higher. JB has twenty three points to this point. He's putting on a show! C's lead at the half.

🏀🏀🏀

C's should come out here looking to land the knockout. Give themselves a break in the fourth. Especially with the Bucks and Grizzlies on the horizon. KP and Al with back to back threes! Now we just need some stops and a few more of those. The Celtics pace is at a nice clip right now.

C's are allowing the Pistons to hang around. C's must put the clamps down on D. Offensively they are really doing whatever they want. Just need the D to follow suit. KP gets hacked and no call at all. Timeout C's as the Pistons are making a run. Joe has become damn good at drawing up plays off timeouts.

I smell a Celtics run coming up right here. JB to Sam for the mid range jumper. Great hustle by Sam on that loose ball. Sam I am goes all the way off the block. Lays it up with the lefty! This time Sam goes deep. Sam from the corner this time! The man is on fire! C's lead after the third.

🏀🏀🏀🏀

C's open up with a three! Great shot by PP! Couple that with great D on the other end. PP is so good, he just hit another three! Kid is nasty folks! Pistons are not giving up and cut into the Celtics lead. Timeout Joe...

C's really need to wake up and close this thing out. Hopefully off the timeout their sense of urgency will be there. Time for a nice play off the timeout, something going to the basket. Here we are let's see what Joe drew up...

What a pass from DWhite to Luke, who goes off glass plus the foul! Huge play! Now we need a defensive stop. C's better wake up. Luke with another block! Luke is a defensive machine! Love his court awareness tonight. He's made some great defensive plays these past two games.

DWhite earns the C's an extra possession with the hustle. I absolutely love Derrick, he's Mr Basketball. He can do it all out there. Both offensively and defensively. Just an all around all star player in my opinion. Been a favor of mine even before he was a Celtic. DWhite finds KP for the JAM!

C's are five minutes away from securing a victory. Time to close this game off strong. Impressive assist numbers from both JB and DWhite tonight. Talk about being unselfish and finding your teammates. This is Celtics basketball. It's a thing of beauty seeing how much they trust one another as a collective unit. Celtics Win!

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! C Us Rise! Nineteen in Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
