One more before the new year

 ☘️

How great is it having Jrue Holiday back?! He makes defensive plays that no one else can make in the NBA. He's as smooth as a nice cognac! The way he sees the defensive floor is master class. He knows where his body should be and always positions himself to give the offensive player issues. On offense he's able to Pop off for forty if need be. What I really love is how he passes the rock. Jrue Holiday is one of my favorite players.

Today's game has been a slog fest. These three o'clock starts are awful. NBA players are generally creatures of habit. This would be the time they are taking naps or getting work done. What we need to see today is the C's own the paint. Last game vs the Pacers they were awful. The defense was off and the Pacers took it right to us. Heck the last time we played the Raptors they took it to us.

Personally I'm not worried about the regular season anymore. With this thought process. The C's have not been healthy this season. Their super five hasn't played enough together. Once they get their rhythm back as a unit there's no way they are going to lose in a playoff series. I'll die on that hill.

DWhite is looking very confident out here. He's a guy who on another team could average about twenty plus points per game. He's the guy who is in the right place at the right time more often than not. He to me is the ultimate teammate and exemplifies Celtic basketball! You guessed it he's one of my favorite players and I love him! C's lead after one.

🍀🍀

Can we talk about Payton Pritchard this season. How many games has he saved us from losing. This kid is incredible and nails. If the game is on the line I'd give him the ball. He has that feel of past Celtics who weren't stars but had hall of fame careers. He has some DJ and Danny in him. I'd love for our readers to tell us who they think he reminds them of. I always thought DJ was clutch and so is PP. Danny has a nice stroke and so does PP.

Does anyone else think about how we lost two super stars in Len Bias and Reggie Lewis. Those two guys could have ushered in many more titles. No other organization has dealt with such loss. I still can't wrap my head around it even though it's been forever. That is the biggest what ifs in sports from my perspective. I loved Reggie and he was my guy. That's not saying I didn't love Bird, McHale, Parish, Ainge and DJ. I adored those players and I'm not afraid to admit it. Yet Reggie was my guy the first jersey I ever bought. Forgive me if I've written this before but I'm nostalgic in my older age.

Even though we have scored a heck of a lot I like where we are at the half. This Celtics team has the ability to win in multiple ways. Even winning ugly. Which I will take because to me it means we are tough. Sometimes you need to get dirty and win. C's lead at the half.

☘️☘️☘️

I'm somewhat concerned with Als shooting lately. I love Al but we are going to need his offense come playoffs especially off the bench. I know he's a bit long in the tooth but he's still got it. I guarantee Al will make huge plays to win us multiple playoff games. I'm sure he will find the range as the new year approaches.

I wonder if C's fans can close their eyes and picture this. Imagine if just for a moment a guy like Antoine Walker was playing in today's game. He would fit seamlessly into this Celtics teams. Especially in today three happy NBA. Personally I love Antoine and his wiggle. I'm not gonna lie but I used to do the wiggle myself! I actually owned a Walker jersey and his Adidas kicks. I also feel the Truth would have benefited in today's league. The Truth not only hit big threes in his career but his stroke was flawless. I always wanted to see those two win a ring together.

Anyone who knows basketball should realize the C's are the franchise to be used as the crown jewel. The glitz and glam may go to that LA faker organization but the C's own them. If you do a deep dive into the stats, the C's own the fakers in the regular season and playoffs. We should have many more titles than them but the NBA screwed us out of a few. C's lead after three.

🍀🍀🍀🍀

End of the year reviews for me are... Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have improved their games from a year ago. Expect the new year to continue that and show their greatness. The way these two young men have developed is incredible. I remember the day they were drafted and I will remember the day they get inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame!

The C's backcourt of Jrue, Derrick and PP is elite! Tell me what those guys can't do? I'm waiting... That's right they can do just about anything on the floor. All three have the ability to take over a game and light it up. All three also have the ability to defend so well you feel you were hit by a brick! Each of those guys will become better as we enter the New Year.

The five position is a bit incomplete right now. I know once KP is truly healthy there's no stopping him. Add Al and the bench bigs and we are solid. If KP and Al are healthier for the playoffs we will be unstoppable!

Celtics Win!

C Us Rise! Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! Nineteen in Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet.
