Welcoming Home an Old Friend

C's welcome home old friend Marcus Smart. While I loved Marcus while he was here. Trading him was the best thing to happen to this team. It secured us Kristaps Porzingis. By trading him we ended up with Jrue Holiday and pairing him with Derrick White. The best backcourt in basketball. Plus it gave the Jays the confidence in leading this team.

🏀

I am expecting a comeback performance from both DWhite and PP. C's are throwing up bricks... JB to JT and we get inside and score. C's haven't given me any signs of energy yet. Joe is wearing his cross on his shirt and I love it! KP is blocking everything coming in his direction. When he's in the paint it's protected like no other.

Back to back corner threes by Jrue and Derrick. That corner three is a huge weapon for the C's offense, especially with our shooters. When the Celtics space themselves there's no way of stopping them. The way the ball moves, the D has no opportunity to catch em. Right now the C's are catching them flat footed, the only problem is we aren't hitting as many shots as we should.

Jrue "jacks up" Jackson as he gets inside and scores. Jrue from the corner and it's a splash! The Grizz seem to be letting Jrue get open looks. Almost as if they are daring him to shoot. Not the smartest strategy. Especially given Jrue has the ability to knock down shots and go off for forty.

Queta with a thunderously loud DUNK. That pass from DWhite was how do you say, SPECTACULAR! Old friend Marcus Smart is looking a bit nervous. My goodness do these refs freaking suck tonight. All the damn calls have gone the Grizzlies way. Queta finds PP for the beautiful three point shot! SPLASH! C's trail after one.

☘️☘️

C's haven't done very much here in the second. C's really will have to dig deep and D up. Right now their D is lacking like unsalted food. Joe calls a timeout and you can tell he's pissed and enough is enough. I really hope this spurs them into an epic run. C's fans deserve more than what we are watching right now.

JB is starting to warm up... I need him to take over this quarter. The Grizz are allowed to hammer the C's. Yet on the other end when we breath on a guy we get the whistle. JB with a TWO HANDED HAMMER. That was so loud it caused the earth to shake. Love when he goes and tries to destroy the rim.

Derrick White has been everywhere tonight. On both ends of the floor he's doing whatever it takes. Rebounding, making steals and blocking shots. He's earning a bunch of Tommy Points out there tonight. Boy would I love to hear Tommy call his games. How great would it be hearing him also call Jrue in Green and White.

C's trail at the half... Brutal schedule of 5 games in the last 7 days.

🏀🏀🏀

While tonight isn't ideal the C's just need a nice run to start this third. I don't believe they play again until Thursday? What a dumb job of scheduling. You have two really good teams tonight and yet the C's are wounded given the battle they went through last night. Any advantage the NBA can take against the C's is always in play. They want to keep the Cavs in first.

C's look like they are running in mud. KP with the deep three! KP for another deep three! Back to back bombs from the Unicorn! Thank goodness that slip up wasn't a bad injury in the first half. Keep feeding the big man!

C's just don't have it tonight... C's trail by 12 but it feels like 24. Thank the NBA for robbing us of the C's being at their best. If the C's want any chance of coming back it starts on defense. We finally get a JT three. Hopefully that gets him going.

JT aggressively takes it inside and scores. Looking for the And One. C's just need a run of about five baskets in a row. The work is being put in on D, but the shots aren't falling. At some point they are going to start to fall. Doesn't everything even out at some point???

C's are slowly getting back into this game. PP for three! Some how some way the C's only trail by two. Love that last set with Jrue finding Queta for the deuce. Excellent play call from Joe, he's becoming a Jedi Master in that department. C's trail after the third...

🍀🍀🍀🍀

Queta Ds up Morant and forces a turnover. JB for THREE! Tie Game folks! PP for Three! We have the lead! C's never stopped playing hard and it's payed off. They may have looked gassed most of the game but now they look ready to roll. I need to see elite defense here. Let's continue this run!

PP AGAIN! BING BANG BOOM! Jackson loses his footing and a freaking foul on Queta. BOGUS! Jrue gets into Morants body and goes glass. Looking for the And One. Jrue has so many shot attempts overall tonight it's nuts. Freaking refs are awful, JB gets inside and gets mauled and no call. Absolutely awful.

JB gets to the cup and scores, finally he gets a whistle. JB is starting to carry us. He's been very aggressive going to the rim, taking his middy fade away, and getting rebounds! C's need a stop right now. KP hits a deep three. We continue to fight but it still feels like an uphill battle.  C's lose... The freaking refs SUCK.

We have to wish a very Happy Birthday to Larry Joe Bird! One of the best players to ever do it. He's in my top five of all time players. No one gave more to basketball. I mean he literally destroyed his body for the game. Love Larry Bird!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet.
