Celtics Rocketing into Houston

☘️

No JB tonight but KP is back in the lineup. What a steal by Jrue! Finds KP for the oop! DWhite for three! The best back court in all of the NBA is looking good already. Both Derrick and Jrue are high IQ players. Hands down the best backcourt in all of basketball.

C's look relatively fresh so far tonight. It will be something to monitor if and when they may get tired legs. Joe may have to go deep into the bench. So far they look like a team on a mission. Everyone who has been in the game has made an impact. You have to love when your entire team is making an impact on the floor.

C's have grabbed an early ten point lead tonight. PP looks extremely efficient tonight. Doing a little bit of everything tonight. Even making former Coach Ime Udoka laugh. We have seen a good amount of minutes for Luke Kornet tonight. He's come to play and is doing a solid job.

C's are shooting really well from deep so far tonight. It's nice to see them find their stroke early on. It would be nice if they can keep this up tonight. Go wire to wire knocking down threes. C's lead at the end of the first.

🍀🍀

Nice having KP back out there, but he hasn't found his stroke yet. We need to get him going while JT is on the bench. I like the idea of having Queta and KP out there together. A double big lineup has been something Joe has used to his advantage. If and when we get a steady diet of KP and Al come playoffs will be awesome.

C's are going to need to get tighter on D. Right now they are getting killed by the Rockets. What was a solid lead is now starting to dwindle. They can't allow Green to get going. Queta has been showing a lot of progress lately. The lead has been cut down and Joe calls a timeout.

I'm hoping out of the timeout we see a much better defensive effort. Luke has been excellent in the defensive post. Unfortunately he can't hit free throws tonight. I will say Luke is a very smart basketball player. Generally he knows where he should be out there. DWhite comes up with a big defensive play and draws the charge.

I've found that Joe is doing a good job managing minutes tonight. I see he may be trying to preserve his guys for the end of the game. JT just took the Rockets big man and nailed a three in his face. JT with another three that was absolutely beautiful. JT has been playing some elite basketball these past two games. C's lead at the half.

☘️☘️☘️

I'm hoping the C's can come out here and land some knockout punches. Go on a nice run and put them away for the night. It's extremely important they don't allow the Rockets back in the game. They need to play lock down defense which should give them a good chance at winning tonight.

Great job by C's getting KP in a mismatch vs the smaller player. I need to see more of that tonight. That's a great way to get him going offensively. DWhite with the incredible block on Brooks. Get that shot out of here! He timed that up so well, and positioned himself perfectly. He's the best guard in the NBA at blocking shots. DWhite to Luke for the JAM!

C's have been playing excellent defense here. Offensively they have made some good plays as well. Overall this third quarter has been a success. C's with the lead after three.

🍀🍀🍀🍀

KP opens us up with the Three ball! I'm liking this double big with KP and LK! Both guys are finding each other with great passes. They are consummate teammates. You have to love how this team is willing to make the extra pass.

I've seen a very focused team tonight from the start. Defensively it's been beautiful to watch. On offense we have witnessed some excellent passing and earning extra possessions! C's are rolling right now and these Rockets are a dud. No liftoff for them tonight! I'd say this road trip is off to a great start. Beating the Wolves last night and Rockets tonight. Next on the to do list is the Thunder on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic Pride! C Us Rise! Bleed Green! Nineteen in Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
