Sunday Basketball

What can I say about today's game? C's barely escaped with a one point victory. First of all that five second call on Derrick was absolutely garbage. Derrick was pissed with that ref and he should be. My initial thoughts are we are beyond lucky to have won this game. I don't know what's going on with this team but we are not playing like I feel we should be.

I know it's very difficult to repeat in today's NBA. Yet this team if healthy should be able to do so. With that said I wasn't very impressed with tonights win. I love this team but tonight didn't really impress me. There were moments in the game that I felt good about what I saw. There were moments I wanted to smash my TV. Some of the turnovers were careless. Those need to be cleaned up. That's just a lack of focus in my opinion.

It was nice seeing Jrue get aggressive in the fourth. Those are the kinds of plays you want from a veteran like him. Throughout his career and tonight he made some winning plays. We need more of that Jrue as the season progresses. I am a little concerned with our backcourt and their production. Defensively they are still elite I just need to see more on offense.

KP had another double double and I am seeing him get back into being that player we had last season. Finally he's relatively healthy and starting to find a groove. We still need to make sure he gets to the post season healthy. Al hit some big shots tonight and he's another guy we need healthy in the playoffs.

JT had himself a really good game. Scoring 38 and grabbing 11 boards. It seems like a quiet 38 but definitely impactful. JB chipped in with 16 points 8 boards and 7 assists. I love that kind of production from him. He's an all around player and when he puts up those balanced numbers you have to be proud. The Jays must lead by example as the season moves on.

In some good news outside of basketball, we have ourselves a new Patriots coach. Congrats to Mike Vrabel on his return back to the team where he won three Super Bowls! Mike was always a favorite of mine. He always made clutch plays and even caught a few touchdowns. Expect good things to occur with the Patriots going forward!

One last Celtics thought, as the season progresses I feel this team will improve. I expect them to be in the top of the East and NBA overall. I would like for the C's to grab some fire power coming off the bench. Once again I was proud to see Joe wearing his cross today. I don't see very many Coaches who do that anywhere.

Celtic Pride! C Us Rise! Bleed Green! Nineteen in Green!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
