Monday in Miami

 🏀

Three years to the day we traded for Derrick White. From the moment we traded for him I knew he was a steal. Very Red like by Brad to get him for what we did. I absolutely love Derrick White he's one of my favorite players. So glad he's a Celtic and I hope he never leaves. I expect him to have a big game tonight given no Jrue and Jaylen.

Tonight we get to see the new look Heat, given the trades last week. Question I have is who starts for the C's tonight? DWhite, Tatum, Al, KP and Sam? PP will have to be the catalyst off the bench. He's going to need some help that's for sure. I would guess Luke and Queta should get similar minutes from the other night. I'd love to see JT put up another forty piece.

I just heard from the pregame and I was correct with my predictions on the starting lineup. Game is ready to tip...
C's need to get going early on. C's are wearing those ugly uniforms yet again. C's need to be locked in if they want this game. KP can't find the bottom of the cup early on. Time to get him in the post!

C's are not where they should be on offense. No real rhythm and too many misses. Joe calls a timeout as there is no energy from the C's on either end. I despise the Heat as an organization. Mainly because of Pat Riley and Leflop. I really hope Joe gets their attention during this timeout. You can't continue to get good wins and then lose the next game. It's horrible!

     Tonight's shooting sucks.

🏀🏀

Not a very impressive start offensively for the Celtics. They are only down by six which I guess isn't bad. They must find their offense here in the second. Not having Brown or Holiday hurts tonight. Tatum will have to find his offense and carry this team. Derrick attacks the rim and gets to the line.

C's are getting back into the game with solid D. Their offense has been better given their spacing. Sam looks very efficient here in the second. Maybe he will knock down a few more threes. When his stroke is on he's a weapon. DWhite to the cup for the And One! That's my guy right there! KP just brought the one handed hammer down on that rim!

C's are on a nice run and they now lead by ten. Let's double it up guys come on now! They have really started moving the ball incredibly well here in the second. Thankfully Sam is en Fuego from deep. His rainbow threes are a thing of beauty. I hope he goes for thirty tonight! Have I said how much these heat and Celtics uniforms are ugly.

Great timeout by Joe here, the lead is ten but the offense isn't clicking. If the C's can go on a run here it might be lights out for the Heat. Heat culture is the dumbest gimmick in all of sports. JT is starting to cook here in the second. He's like a nice sauce starting to simmer and invigorate all those flavors.

🏀🏀🏀

C's only have a nine point lead, it should be more. I hope they come out here in the third and really lay it on them. They allowed the heat some life there at the end of the second. C's can't afford any slow starts as we the third. The NBA season feels incredibly long to me now. It seems to drag a bit.

C's have six turnovers too many tonight. Not enough players crash the boards on misses. More so following their shots. I was always taught to follow my shot. Al looks really good here in the third. DWhite to KP for the soft finish! JT for three! C's are making their push here in the third!

Al and JT with back to back baskets and both are giving it their all here in the third. JT has taken over this third and I'm loving it! JT is showing why he's an absolute STUD! He's killing whoever the Heat put on him. There's no one who can stop him tonight. This heat team is putrid on offense. Tatum is straight sizzling, like how that steak sounds when you pop it on the skillet. JT just put Duncan Robinson in the wash cycle and goes off glass. Robinson Sucks!

🏀🏀🏀🏀

How about that DWhite shot to beat the buzzer in the third. That was a thing of beauty! Not a bad shot given it's his third anniversary with the Celtics. He needs to retire in a Celtics jersey. I don't want to ever see him in another jersey. He's really become the guy on this team who can fill any role and kill ya when needed.

Anyone else enjoy that beat down in the Superbowl? That defense was unreal! Reminded me of a defense or two Bill Belichick built. For all the Superbowl Brady and Belichick were in the never got their doors blown off like that. It truly speaks to the greatness of those Patriot teams. As I reflect on Brady, Belichick and those Patriots teams it truly was a special time

Back to the Celtics, they have handled the heat to this point. Time to get home and get ready for Wemby. That should be a heck of a game going into the All Star break. C's Win!

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! Bleed Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
