Cs look to tame the Grizz

 🍀

Cs will face the Grizz shorthanded yet again. There will be no JB or Luke tonight. It will have to be the next man up motto tonight. We do however get Al and PP back tonight. Let's hope we can get some payback for the game in Boston earlier this season. Cs give up the first basket of the game. Look at X getting the start tonight! Hoping he has a solid game.

Cs offense has been a bit anemic here, right until KP drilled that three. That is his shot and it can't be stopped. It's so pretty to watch when it swishes through the net. The defenders really have opportunity to affect that shot. Oh boy... Tony Brothers is doing tonight's game. If Tommy were here he would be railing against him. He's always been anti Celtics. Let's hope he doesn't screw us tonight.

JT hits the three effortlessly! This game seems like it is going wire to wire. Cs and Grizz are trading blows. Ja always plays with an extra edge vs us. JT with the step through that leads to a deuce off the glass. Love that Jrue to KP jam! Cs are missing some good shots tonight. They have committed a few too many turnovers. They will need to clean things up if they want to pull this one out. Cs ball movement has been very efficient so far.

We are getting closer to the end of the season. I'm beyond ready for the playoffs. Time for the Cs to make some history and take us on a magical ride. The rook is in and I'm expecting him to make an impact. Cs haven't finished this quarter and now trail. Not very happy with where we are at in this game.

🍀🍀

Cs are really going to have to dig deep in this second and try to reclaim the lead. It starts on defense and then running in transition. Cs are playing like a team that's ready to go on a run. KP with his patented three and we are in business. Cs need some stops and aren't getting them. The Cs now trail by double digits. Right now the Grizzlies are the fresher team. Ja is killing them as he always does.

Great hustle by Sam going after that rebound. These are the plays that generally help win games. On the other end Sam drains the three! You have to love seeing him make plays on both ends of the floor. Cs still trail by ten and Joe calls a timeout. Hopefully he will get into them and they will respond. If not this game may be over already.

JT scores and then the Cs steal the rock and Sam nails the three! DWhite from deep and the lead is cut to four. Joe's timeout has clearly gotten through to them. The comeback is almost complete. They have gotten back to playing Celtics basketball! Now it's time to not only complete this comeback but build a lead of our own. JT gets no respect from any of the refs. He scores inside, gets hit and no call.

Ja flops into Al and the whistles blow like crazy. These refs are screwing Tatum, while Ja gets what he wants. Excellent Cs ball movement leads to a corner Jrue three. KP for three and the Cs have a lead! JT hits the three and we are cooking on offense. What a tip by Jrue to Derrick for the second change opportunity! That's a Tommy point!

All tied up with about three minutes to go. This finish can go a long way in determining who wins this game. Let's hope the Cs finish with a flurry. Time to tame these Grizz, and send em into hibernation. Cs are missing some good looks again. Look at Jrue with those handles, looking like a Wizard out there. Jrue scores and we have the lead, followed up by KP scoring inside. A nice run for the Cs finishing this quarter. What a follow by DWhite in that miss!

🍀🍀🍀

Cs left some points out there in the first half. They do have a five point lead but it could be ten. This is despite being down by eleven tonight. I'm hoping for the Cs to really dig deep on D and shut them down. If wee keep the ball moving like we did in that first half we should be good. Key wil be getting off to a good start here in the third. Let's Go Celtics!

Cs are losing in the points in the paint department, but winning on the boards. Cs are cold as ice here in the third. Good steal by X and it leads to Jrue for three! That was a huge shot so early in the third. Great board by X over the giant. X has made his impact tonight especially in his starters role. I wish he had more time on the floor this season. He's been limited overall and I'm not sure why.

Cs are on a nice run right now as we get a timeout on the floor. Cs could blow this game wide open if they can make a few stops. The way the ball is moving, there's now way the Grizz can't stop us. Cs have shown tonight their resiliency every time the Grizz grab a lead. Jrue for three! His shot lately has been locked in. He's going to be a weapon in the playoffs. JT with the BLOCK! Jrue with another three! What a block! What a shot! What a team!

Cs have a few minutes to finish this quarter off right. Time to D up and push this lead to ten. Let's go into the fourth with a quality lead. Expect to get the Grizzlies best punches going forward. The Cs will be ready and they will show it. Shout out to Big Al tonight, the Man is a basketball treasure. He's having himself a pretty balanced game tonight. Cs look to finish this game off in the fourth. Great set to close the quarter with Al in the paint.

🍀🍀🍀🍀

Well it all comes down to this if the Cs want to make history. 6-0 on the road for the first time ever?! That's crazy especially given their immense history as the greatest organization of all time. Cs lead in the assist department and that's a huge Stat. PP with the Tommy point right there! Earning the Cs an extra possession. KP to Al for three! That's some beautiful double big basketball right there!

This time it's Al to KP who gets fouled in the post! DWhite for three! He sets a Celtic record for most threes in a season! Absolutely incredible how darn good DWhite is! In such a storied franchise to set records is an amazing accomplishment! Way to go Derrick! Cs hustle leads to a PP three! Let's Go! Tommy points all around! Cs have really given the Grizz more than they can handle. Cs played a heck of a game tonight! With this win they set another record! When you play for the Cs prepare to make history!

Celtic Pride! Bleed Green! C US Rise!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
